We are looking for a Transport Front Line Manager with proven management experience within the FMCG sector, preferably within the Food sector. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of drivers and transport coordinators to ensure the safe delivery and/or collection of all goods to/from our customers and in accordance with all legal and company requirements.
In the short term the working pattern will be flexible covering days, nights and weekends.

Key Accountabilities
- To set clear goals, targets and expectations of performance for all Drivers and Transport Coordinators on your shifts to ensure all relevant KPIs are met.
- To ensure all drivers receive a daily debrief and the Transport Management Team are updated daily on performance.
- To ensure all shift members are aware of and comply with environmental, health and safety, legal and company standards and that all shifts operate in compliance with the team.
- To ensure optimal labour utilisation, by making best use of the Company Scheduling Systems and labour flexibility.
- To recruit, train and develop Drivers and Coordinators who reflect the Company's values and who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and qualifications to perform effectively.
- To execute continuous improvement action plans (e.g. PDP initiatives, productivity improvements etc), to ensure that targets are achieved.
- To ensure that any service issues arising are addressed promptly and where appropriate, escalated as required.
The Right Person
Essential
- 2 - 5 years experience managing teams within a transport, logistics, distribution, or operational environment
- Experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance and health & safety requirements.
- Ability to build good working relationships with employees, customers and suppliers.
- Good leadership skills with a confident, open and honest style of communicating.
- A strong customer focus, always willing to go the extra mile to deliver a good service.
- An analytical thinker, capable of making effective decisions in a fast paced environment.
- Self motivated with passion, enthusiasm, tenacity and resilience.
- Lead by example with the "Safety First" message.
Desirable
- CPC qualification or knowledge of Operator Licence requirements.
- Food sector experience
