About the Role

Join our close-knit Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) team and play a vital part in keeping our fleet on the road and operating safely. You’ll take pride in ensuring our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards — carrying out efficient, high-quality bodywork and structural repairs across a range of fleet assets.

You’ll work closely with our VMU Shift Co-ordinator, Front Line Manager, and Logistics team to make sure vehicles are available when needed, supporting smooth delivery operations across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out safe, high-quality repairs to vehicle bodywork, integral structures, and associated equipment.

  • Work efficiently to help the team meet key performance targets and repair schedules.

  • Always follow safety, environmental, and maintenance procedures — raising any issues or hazards immediately.

  • Use resources effectively to deliver the best results for the team and the business.

  • Ensure all repair and maintenance records meet company and legal standards.

  • Liaise with the Transport and Logistics departments to keep everyone updated on vehicle availability.

  • Take a flexible, proactive approach — supporting other VMU duties as needed.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in vehicle bodywork and structural repairs on large commercial vehicles.

  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems.

  • A valid LGV C+E licence (training may be provided for the right candidate).

Desirable:

  • Experience working on tail lift maintenance.

  • City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Body Repair.

  • Coded welding certification.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a skilled, supportive team that values craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork.

  • Work with modern equipment in a professional and safety-focused environment.

  • Opportunities for development and training, including LGV licence support and technical upskilling.
