Our Liverpool Hotplate Site is the heart of our snack baking products - Crumpets & Pancakes! The successful candidate will join an experienced and collaborative team working to keep our site efficient and effective.

The role of a Maintenance Shift Engineer is a varied and challenging one. You will be expected to identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives alongside proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and site services associated with a major bakery. Shift pattern for the role is 4-on, 4-off (2 days followed by 2 nights).

Key Accountabilities

  • Diagnose and correct automation, electrical and mechanical issues to resolve breakdown situations.
  • Ensure our engineering strategy is delivered consistently.
  • Deliver turn-key improvement projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Drive the performance of the Engineering function forward.
  • Focus on safe working practices and site performance KPI’s including OEE and CCOs.

  • Able to train, coach and assist operators and other engineers.
  • A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an electrical, automation or multiskilled engineering discipline is desirable, supported by suitable experience.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Be flexible and co-operative to assist in meeting business needs.
