Overview of role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic self-starting leader to join the manufacturing team at Allied Bakeries in Liverpool. We are recruiting for a self-motivated Process Leader to support in leading the manufacturing team to ensure we continue to deliver our high standards.

 

Safety is First at Allied Bakeries, so we're looking for someone to lead by example in ensuring that Health and Safety is our number one priority, and someone who is able to engage others to think and behave safely at all times.

 

The role holder will be responsible for being the key performance driver of the manufacturing team. You will have autonomy to plan and coordinate resources to address day to day operational demands to ensure that our site KPIs relating to safety, absence, performance, cost, quality and service are met consistently.

There will be plenty of opportunity for the right individual to deputise for the Manufacturing Front Line Manager where you can get involved in tactical projects, coaching and pro-active performance management solutions.

 

Working through others in your team and alongside key stakeholders, you will achieve high levels of targeted manufacturing performance. This will be founded on a culture of continuous improvement along with development and learning.

 

Key Accountabilities

 🔹  Lead the site safety agenda in conjunction with relevant Front Line Manager;
 🔹  Review and manage process specification ensuring corrective action is driven via the shift team;
 🔹  Optimise labour efficiency of the shift in line with operational requirements;
 🔹  Accurately report the performance on a shift basis making recommendations for improvement;
 🔹  Contribute to and drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring principles are understood and applied;
 🔹  Take responsibility for effectively communicating the site strategy to ensure a clear understanding on how this is       

        applied operationally against key deliverables and KPIs;
 🔹  Ensure plant optimisation, throughput, and quality is maintained at all times that meets order fill requirements;
 🔹  Work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive a culture of best practice, resolving issues efficiently and effectively;
 🔹  Take an active role in driving and supporting both individual and team development.

The Right Person

✅ Proven experience in a comparable environment; an FMCG food production background would be advantageous but

     not essential;

 

✅ Excellent analytical ability including strong numerical and verbal communication skills;

 

✅ The ability to work on own initiative, as well as to engage successfully with key internal stakeholders and external

     customers;

 

✅ A keen eye for detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks;

 

✅ Fully conversant with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;

 

✅ Experience and evidence of delivering process improvement via teams is essential;

 

✅ Proven ability in the development and training of staff;

 

✅ Full understanding of the control of the primary elements of the manufacturing process.
