Reporting to the Logistics Lead, the Logistics FLM is responsible for leading and motivating the supply chain groups (Transport and Despatch) to ensure our products are safely assembled and delivered to customers on time and in full.
Our Logistics FLMs are also responsible for driving and implementing improvements and leading change through the development of individuals and teams.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain a safe working environment by actively promoting a “Safety First” culture.
- Promote, aid and support the assessment of risk within the department.
- Ensure that all staff are fully aware and compliant with all H&S standards, policies, Safe Systems of Work and current legislation.
- Set clear goals and targets of performance for all staff.
- Ensure shifts are adequately staffed, trained, briefed, monitored and motivated to fulfil shift objectives.
- Manage absence, conduct and performance in conjunction with HR, trade union representatives, and senior management – maintaining consistency with site rules and procedures.
- Focus on the recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure they reflect the company's values.
- Compliance with all QAS standards.
- Ensure all despatched goods meet the customers’ expectations, including code control.
- Ensure all departing vehicles are documented, loaded and secured correctly.
- Responsible for food safety/product integrity within Despatch / Transport and be responsible for traceability and product withdrawal procedures.
- Responsible for controlling costs within the shift, including absence, labour, damage, sales losses and other associated costs.
The Right Person
- The role requires strong leadership and management capability, as well as proven experience in warehousing and/or transport logistics operations.
- You will need strong analytical skills, the ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, and the aptitude to work on your own initiative and identify and solve problems.
- A completer finisher mentality with a keen eye for detail.
- CPC qualified or the motivation to achieve the qualification.
- Effective communication skills with a focus on industry best practice and continuous improvement.
