Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £37,032 – £38,850 per year depending on role
Hours: 42 hours per week | 12-hour shifts
Shift Pattern: This role operates 12-hour rotating shifts, on a varied shift pattern, including days, nights and weekends.

We're looking for enthusiastic Bakery Operative and Manufacturing Technicians to join our Stockport operation at Hovis Bakeries (formally known as Allied Bakeries).

What will you be doing?

As a Bakery Operative, you will play a key role in producing high-quality bakery products within a busy and highly regulated manufacturing environment.

• Engage in the Safety First culture and compliance with AB internal policies and procedures 
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety and housekeeping
• Monitor product quality and consistency 
• Support the efficient operation of production lines
• Take part in training and development activities, including 1-to-1 sessions

 You'll be part of a team where everyone plays an important role in keeping our operation moving.

This is a physically demanding role in a fast-paced factory environment, so resilience, reliability and a positive attitude are essential.

What are we looking for?

You don't need to have years of experience within a manufacturing environment to join us (although that would be beneficial)!

We're looking for people who are reliable, hardworking and safety conscious.

Essential

✅ Good awareness of Health, Safety and Food Safety
✅ Basic numeracy and literacy skills, including record keeping and following instructions

Advantageous

✅ Understanding and application of food hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice
✅ Understanding of baking process 
✅ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate IOSH or equivalent
