Overview of role

Location:  

This role is within the Central Logistics Team. The role will support with Project Vesper scoping, and key project work relating to it, including vehicle replacement strategies, contacted maintenance arrangements and VMU resource utilisation. The role will manage the integration across the VMU function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Environment form key characteristics of any proposals, ensuring any project work complies with health and safety standards, legal and company requirements.
  • Ensure any project work is Safety focused whilst seeking process efficiency
  • Data driven decision making.
  • Build and maintain key customer relationships both externally and internally, including those of suppliers and agencies.
  • Complete effective analysis of the requirements, producing a project plan for integration ensuring the most cost effective and efficient options for our fleet.
  • Produce a business plan and make recommendations.
  • Understand resource requirements and planning for options presented.
  • Evaluate effective fleet replacement and maintenance strategies, including finance options, TCO, replacement phasing and business fit.
  • Confidently use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) to manage data, timelines and communications.
  • Work with the Procurement, Legal and wider project team to scope options as required.
     

The Right Person

  • Previous VMU management experience gained in a Blue Chip, FMCG Warehouse Company is desirable.
  • Holder of a Management qualification to minimum HND level.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience of and competent in using, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and a Fleet management system.
