Overview of role
Location: West Bromwich
The main function of this role is the control of all plant lubrication and services working to a preventative planned maintenance schedule .The Maintenance Support will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and in the case of absence report directly to the Plant Engineers.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure the efficient running of the manufacturing machinery, boilers, compressors and water treatment plant by completing routine tasks generated within the planned preventative maintenance schedule. This schedule will be developed by the Maintenance Manager
Assist in minor engineering duties and tasks as required.
Identify and where applicable and safe to do so, design in running maintenance / lubrication schedules
Participate in the good house keeping of the engineering workshop, stores, and services buildings.
Comply with all legislation and site polices.
Complete all relevant documentation.
Participate in any appropriate training courses that will benefit the individual and Engineering Department.
Welding and fabrication skills as and when required
To make decisions necessary to maintain production, and to report abnormal circumstances to the Maintenance Controller and in the case of absence the Engineering Manager.
The Right Person
Basic craft engineering/ basic craft skills – training will be given
2 to 3 years Food manufacturing experience would be an advantage.
Computer literate in Microsoft applications (word, excel)
To act safely at all time, reporting hazards and issues in line with company procedures. Adherence to safe operating procedures
