Hours: 41.6 hours per week on a rotational shift pattern of 12-hour days and nights.
Holiday Entitlement: 25.5 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
We have a great opportunity for a Shift Miller to join an experienced team, providing a first-class service at our flour mill in Tilbury. In the role, the successful candidate will lead the shift across the Flour mill, Durum and wholemeal plant in the delivery of consistently high-quality products in a safe, efficient and cost-effective environment, in all aspects of production from wheat intake through to bulk dispatch/packing while implementing the best milling practice and seeking continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

Engage in the Safety-First culture and compliance with AMB internal policies and procedures  
Ensures their own development and training needs are identified, participating in the proactive environment.
Actively participate and contribute in the sharing of “Best Practice” within a food manufacturing environment.
Liaise closely with the Mill Supervisor and Senior Miller to co-ordinate milling and maintenance activities
Regularly review performance of the milling team against key measurement criteria.
Be a point of contact for UK flour millers (Nabim) and to enrol and mentor students. 
Ensuring training of mill team is up to Date – off and onsite (confined space, FLT etc).
Silo cleaning management
Work towards and train the team on the Good Milling Practice system
Maintain product quality, extraction rate, plant capacity, hygiene and cleaning in mill areas.
Liaise with the engineering team to continually identify, analyse and rectify plant/process defects
To ensure compliance with and be proactive in maintaining and developing all site systems and training for site operatives and the Milling Team, e.g. HACCP, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Environmental, Continuous improvement etc.
Work closely with Technical department to monitor quality and Pest control – check pest report/contact
Regularly record and review Mill risk assessments in line with best practice.
Maintain site standards by completing actions from internal audits.   
Operate to procedures as defined within site quality, environmental and health and safety systems and standards. Demonstrating the ‘Safety First’ approach at all times. 
Maintain mill standards and expectations at all times.

Proven relevant flour milling experience 
Computer literate including Word, Excel, Outlook
NABIM Qualified Modules 1- 7
Durum milling experience (desirable)
Buhler milling qualification/Craft skills qualification or equivalent
Knowledge of BRC & AIB Standards
An Advanced Milling Diploma and IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
