Our Grocery Service Centre near Liverpool is the hub for shared services across the division, delivering excellence across multiple functions including IS, Customer Services, Finance, and Payroll.


We’re looking for a forward-thinking Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead IS strategy and delivery across ABF’s UK Grocery businesses. This is the most senior IS role in the division—your influence will extend across the Grocery Group, shaping technology initiatives that drive growth, efficiency, and innovation.

 

What You’ll Do

 

-Set the Vision: Develop and implement an IS strategy aligned with divisional and business goals.

-Drive Transformation: Lead digital initiatives and ensure the division adapts to a rapidly changing business and technology landscape across the need for both innovation and operational resilience.

-Ensure Security & Compliance: Oversee IT policies, data security, and regulatory compliance.

-Lead & Empower: Build and guide a high-performing IS team, fostering collaboration and strong relationships across the division and ABF Group.

-Own the Tech Landscape: Manage enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, and other critical systems) and vendor partnerships. The role has the autonomy to source and tailor differentiated technology solutions to the divisions unique requirements driving growth, value, innovation and competitive advantage.

What You Bring

 

-Proven experience in senior leadership roles, enabling diverse teams to deliver exceptional results.
-Strategic planning and project management expertise, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
-Experience of leading technology strategy, architecture and planning 
-Proven ability to align good technical governance to the commercial and operational needs of complex, international businesses.
-Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, emerging technologies (AI, Cloud), and digital transformation.
-Experience leading major ERP implementations and business transformation programmes.
