Overview of role

We are on the lookout for a Multi-Skilled Operative Trainer to join our friendly team at Jordan’s. As part of the ABF group, we have ambitious plans for growth over the next 5 years and we need someone with the drive and passion to help us get there. 

You will be based at our Biggleswade site, reporting into the Shift Leader, working on 12 hour shifts Tuesday to Thursday, with an additional 17 flexi shifts per year. 

The role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can be multi skilled in both the process and packing functions of the line to enable a flexible operation while taking responsibility for the training, coaching, and development of other Multi-skilled Operatives.

Location: Biggleswade

Shift: Tuesday – Thursday 6pm-6am + 17 flexi shifts per year to be worked on a Monday or Friday

Key Accountabilities

Our Shift Leader is looking for a team member to... 

  • Act as a role model for safe working practices and confidently challenge unsafe behaviours, and identify and resolve minor machine faults, guiding others through problem‑solving with confidence and ownership
  • Support trainees through fault‑finding activities, encouraging learning and curiosity in daily tasks and proactively engage in training and continuous improvement activities, seeking out better ways of working
  • Uphold FSQ standards through correct product handling, hygiene, documentation, and checks, supporting team compliance and shared accountability, and maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping to contribute to a safe, clean, and collaborative working environment
  • Operate machinery safely and effectively in line with SOPs and SSOW to deliver reliable, efficient production, run machinery efficiently, ensuring quality output and minimising waste, and take ownership of completing checks, documentation, and training tasks accurately and on time.
  • Ensure trainees and operators are equipped to perform safely, correctly, and efficiently so the line consistently meets its targets.
  • Assist with the handling of raw materials and packing of product by operating specified machinery
