Job Opportunity: Product Development Technologist – Jordans Cereals

Location: Hybrid – Minimum 3 days/week in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire (cross-site travel required)
Function: R&D
Reports To: Product Development & Programme Controller

We are on the lookout for a passionate and curious Product Development Technologist to join our dynamic team. This is a brilliant opportunity to get hands on experience shaping the future of cereal across our much loved Jordans and Dorset brands globally, as well as supporting exciting Private Label projects.

You will be at the heart of bringing new ideas to life, from the first spark of a concept to seeing it on supermarket shelves. Working closely with our brand teams and wider business, you’ll help develop delicious, high quality products that consumers love, while ensuring they are made efficiently and consistently.

Whether you are a recent graduate or early in your food industry journey, this role offers the chance to grow, learn, and make a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead product development for new and existing products across cereals and snacks
• Create and refine recipes in our R&D kitchen that meet consumer needs and commercial targets
• Run production trials and ensure smooth scale up from kitchen to factory
• Use consumer insights and sensory research to guide product improvements
• Collaborate cross functionally with teams across R&D, marketing, operations, and commercial
• Champion quality and compliance, ensuring food safety, legal, and customer standards are met
• Own your projects from concept to launch using stage and gate methodology
• Support continuous improvement, troubleshooting issues and enhancing product performance
• Contribute to a high-performing team, sharing knowledge and supporting others

Experience & Qualifications

• A degree in a food-related subject (Food Science, Nutrition, etc.)
• 1+ years’ experience in an FMCG R&D, Technical, or Quality role (placements count)
• A genuine passion for food, health, and sustainability
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Great communication and collaboration abilities
