Location: Poole
We are on the lookout for Specialist Hygiene Operative to join our friendly team at Ryvita. As part of the ABF group, we have ambitious plans for growth over the next 5 years and we need someone with the drive and passion to help us get there.
The core focus of this role is to support the Poole site by ensuring the successful and effective completion of specialist hygiene duties across the site.
The are two potential shift patterns for this role, worked as follows:
Shift pattern 1:
Sunday – 06:00-16:00
Monday to Wednesday – 07:00-15:00
Thursday – 07:00-12:00
Shift pattern 2:
Tuesday to Thursday - 07:00-15:00
Friday - 07:00-12:00
Saturday - 06:00-16:00
Key Accountabilities
Our Specialist Hygiene Operative is looking for a team member to...
- To maintain the highest standards of cleaning whilst adhering to food safety and health and safety standards.
- To improve standards across site by reporting on condition of equipment.
- To carry out work at height (overheads) and in confined spaces as required.
- Be Responsible for adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to protect the health and safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards e.g. BRC, IFS, Femas.
- To communicate and share relevant information with other team/shift members to ensure the highest level of cleaning is maintained and that standards are improved and driven forward.
- To maintain accurate records of tasks and communicate any issues or concerns to Production/Hygiene team leader.
- To be aware of waste streams on site and to dispose of correctly and to communicate any issues to reduce waste therefore making the bakeries more efficient.
- To be vigilant and raise any infestation issues to the Hygiene Team Leader.
- To complete actions required from GMP and Biologist inspections.
- To be flexible and assist with other hygiene duties as required.

• Understands the Bakery process and is able to support and prioritise in a challenging and busy environment.
• Able to make sound and timely operational decisions within Bakery Operations and understands when to escalate.
• Risk identification in relation to HSE or Food Safety.
• Able to build effective working relationships with colleagues in all departments across the Poole site.
• Challenges poor standards and practices.
