THE ROLE:

 

We are seeking a passionate Packaging Technologist to support our Technical and Development teams at Silver Spoon. In this role, you will help deliver functional, compliant, and cost-effective packaging solutions from concept through to factory implementation and market launch. Key responsibilities include creating packaging specifications, approving artwork, supporting factory trials, and maintaining accurate packaging data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across the business—Brand, Procurement, Compliance, Manufacturing, and more—to ensure packaging supports wider business goals. The role also involves contributing to innovation, NPD, and continuous improvement projects, while keeping up to date with market trends and technical developments.

This is a hybrid role based in Peterborough with travel required to our factories and suppliers. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the offices.

 

THE CANDIDATE:

 

You will have a relevant degree or packaging qualification and at least one year of experience in a packaging role within FMCG, food, or retail. Experience working in a factory environment and writing specifications is essential. You’ll be confident communicating across teams and have a solid understanding of packaging materials, artwork, print processes, and environmental drivers.

Strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and a collaborative mindset are key to this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a full UK driving licence are required, along with a genuine passion for packaging and continuous improvement.
