Overview of role
To ensure the safe, effective and efficient running of the production lines including from raw materials to finished goods. Working with colleagues and managers to meet the requirements of the production plan whilst maintaining health, safety, quality and food safety standards.
The role is a highly skilled role in which the individual has accountability for all aspects of the line.
Key Accountabilities
- Be proactive towards H&S, working within defined H&S SSW & behaviours, input into H&S improvements and report unsafe conditions/acts.
- Complete all defined Quality Assurance/ H&S checks including Pre-start checks and complete all relevant documentation required - inclusive of CCPs.
- Ensure the line team carries out hygiene tasks as defined in work schedules and ensure daily the line is maintained to company GMP standards.
- Manage process/quality parameters as per standards trained and communicated.
- Identify any issues that affect line efficiency and inform engineering team/shift leader. Log all downtime accurately and escalate as required.
- Engage with the companies continuous improvement agenda, seek out new opportunities and take an active role in all business activities to improve yield and OEE.
- Ensure the line is always supplied with the appropriate materials and escalate in good time if not available.
- Complete SIC boards accurately and on time to track line KPIs
- Minimise downtime due to changeovers ensuring the production targets for the shift are consistently met, delegate to line team effectively and complete tasks to the time target.
- Ensure all items used in production are issued and de-kitted correctly and any finished goods pallets are receipted correctly.
- Reduce waste whilst ensuring compliance of weights and measures legislation by controlling giveaway.
- Complete effective shift handovers to oncoming line technician to ensure smooth transition between shifts

- Knowledge and experience in a Food Manufacturing environment
- Experience with Critical Control Points (desirable)

- Basic food hygiene knowledge (Level 2 Food Safety desirable)
