Job Title:  Trainee Miller

Overview of role

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Rice Miller to join our team at our Selby site. In this role, you will learn to lead by example, championing Health & Safety and Food Safety to ensure high standards are maintained. You will be responsible for ensuring all production plans are followed and executed efficiently, while providing shift cover for other millers and mill cleaners as needed to help maintain smooth operations.

Key Accountabilities

•  Champion of both H&S and Food Safety

•  Understanding and use of CI

•   Champion of Sustainability.

•   Yield performance is understood

•  Ensure that Mill production plans are in place

• Manage Rice Lot number changes

•  Provide shift cover for other Millers/Mill cleaner

•  Manage crop change in coordination with key stakeholders

•  Use KPI’s to drive Performance Improvement

•  Ensure that the Mill cleaning schedule is adhered to

•   Support Asset Care plans

•   Facilitate a culture of team working across the site

•  Good Manufacturing practices are embedded.

•   Team development

•  Use KPI’s and balance scorecards

The role will be day based initially Monday to Friday and when fully trained, the role will require you to work on your own on a rotating 24/7 shift pattern with additional salary increase to reflect this.
