Overview of role
An exciting opportunity to join and be part of a leading organisation with ambitious 5-year growth plans and lots of potential both within the Jordans Dorset Ryvita Procurement team and the wider ABF group.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role is based in Biggleswade, with hybrid working (approx. 2 days a week in the office). This is a great opportunity to be involved in managing the ingredients that go into our great tasting, honest, real food!
The core focus of this role is to develop, lead and implement appropriate strategies within ingredients Procurement in JDR.
With an increasing business focus on innovation, you will be required to actively involve colleagues from different teams to identify opportunities to drive better value, which includes reducing cost, improving sustainability, reducing risks and improving our products.

Key Accountabilities
- Manage the procurement of selected ingredients categories, including developing and implementing category plans for the spend portfolio, delivering continuous improvement and step-change value opportunities.
- Working with key stakeholders to develop and implement successful sourcing strategies to deliver business requirements.
- Contributing to a business wide initiative to review the risk and sustainability performance of our ingredient portfolio.
- Conducting the end to end sourcing activity using the approved processes and e-sourcing platform.
- Identifying innovation, new ideas and new ways of working in collaboration with key business stakeholders inside and outside of JDR.
- Ensuring our suppliers meet our high standards and deliver additional value through strong supplier management practice.
- Playing an active role in managing ethical risk and opportunity.
- Represent the Procurement team on ingredient related work activity.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, all relevant legislation, as well as quality processes and procedures.
- Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards eg BRC, IFS, Femas.
